Home Remedies &
Alternative Medicine

Medical Clinics for Performers

When it comes to tricks for beating a cough or cold, no one (except maybe a doctor) knows more than an Opera Singer!   Here are some singers' favorite home remedies...be sure to send yours in too!

There are several Medical Clinics especially for those working in the Performing Arts.  Check out our list, and if you know of a doctor or clinic we should add, please tell us!

Health Insurance: Ideas & Options

Resource Center

At last count, there were way too many singers, actors and other performers without health insurance. Here are some ideas and options which you may not have considered. This page of links has resources of vital importance to performing arts, to satisfy their mental, physical and financial health!

FREE AIDS TEST

Everyone needs to know. Period. Many cities have clinics which will test you for free. Here's where/how to get tested for free (and anonymously) in New York City:

303 9th Ave @ 28th St - 2nd floor
New York, NY
212-239-1718

Arrive Mon-Sat by 8:30am
Get in line to get a number...once they meet their quota they turn people away.

It's free, and completely anonymous.

GIVE BLOOD - GET IN THE KNOW

Another way to make sure you are not infected is to give blood on a regular basis. All donated blood is screened for HIV. If you are infected, you will be notified. Be a hero and informed at the same time!
